HIGH-TEA AT EUGENIUS

Strictly speaking, afternoon tea is not 'high tea' at all but 'low tea' as traditionally 'high tea' took place from 5pm - 7pm and was a more substantial meal known now as tea or dinner. The words 'high' and 'low' refer to the table heights. 'Low tea' was taken at a what we now call a 'coffee tab;e' whereas 'high tea' was enjoyed at a dining-room table. Confused? At Eugenius we prefer the term 'high tea' for aim is to have a good time. 'Low tea' sounds too depressing! High tea at Eugenius from 2pm to 5pm - what could be more delightful? Minimum four participants. Bookings essential!
